This new webpage has had my blood, sweat and tears poured into it since October. I contacted an artist (who happens to be a friend from about as far back as you can possible go) who did a hand drawn quilt star. She did a beautiful job with all of the tidbits, details and inspiration points that I gave her. To get to this moment of inspiration, we have to go back to October when I ventured to the eastern side of Virginia, the land of peanuts and cotton, to meet Julie Paisley for her weekend workshop. Can I just start by saying that everything you see, hear and love about Julie is 100% true. She is a genuine, sweet and kind person who deserves all of the 33,000+ Facebook fans and accolades that have come her way. I had pretty high expectations of what the weekend would hold and boy did it live up to them. I needed a business boost and a swift kick in the pants to come up with fresh ideas to rebrand my image. I just wasn’t happy with how my logo and branding looked. It definitely didnt match my style anymore. I spent the next 2 days learning and absorbing everything like a sponge. I was thirsty! I laughed, I cried, but overall it was an amazing workshop and I highly recommend Julie and her workshops if you, like me, just needed inspiration or a swift kick. I was very lucky to have picked a “retreat” workshop where all of the attendees stayed together in a cozy little farm house. We all got along gloriously and chatted like school girls at a slumber party. When it was all said and done, I feel like I left with 6 new friends and a new outlook on my business. Not hardly day goes by that I dont ask advice or confide in one my workshop-mates. I truly treasure the experiences and people that I met that weekend. Julie pushed me to find inspiration, motivation and my true self for my new brand and I had a little epiphany on day 2. Classic, country and sweet little quilt star popped right into my head. A super big thanks to Shari, my graphic designer that pulled it all together. I really had the best logo team ever!
On to the photo shoots! This workshop had 2 styled photo shoots with some beautiful models. I’m only giving you one today, you will have to wait for the next blog post to see the gorgeous couple from day 2!
It was cycling between misting and raining but Miss Kimberly looked like pure cotton princess prancing through those fields. I have always been a sunny, warm picture kind of gal, so this new cloudy ordeal had me thrown for a loop. However, I am so glad that it was gross outside because it gave me a chance to step out of my comfort zone. I love how these images turned out. Isn’t she beautiful!?
For those that have worked with me before, you know I love the details and …especially…the eyelash shot. Don’t judge, I had to.
Last and not least, I had to sneak in a little picture of the fabulous Julie doin her thang. A super big thanks to Julie for being such a role model and support system for her JPP workshop girls. We are forever in your debt!
